Who?
My name is Libby Garnett, I'm 19 years old, and I'm from South Bend, IN. Currently, I'm a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame.
What?
I am a self-written, self-recorded, self-produced, and self-promoted musician. I currently have three studio albums released, and my fourth album Ten Types of Love comes out September 22, 2023! My music is influenced by artists of all different genres, from rock to pop to folk to R&B. This means that my discography has a song for everyone!
Why?
It's hard to say "why" I make music, because I don't feel like making music is something I choose to do. I feel like my music is an extension and an expression of myself that keeps me alive in so many wonderful ways. For as long as I've had thoughts and feelings, I've written songs to express them. Four years ago, I began producing and releasing my music, and that changed everything. The production stage added an entire new creative element to making music that frustrates and exhilarates and fulfills me in ways I never imagined. Through the creation of each album, I created a little world of its own with intricate and interconnected parts. Sharing my music with the world has helped calm my intense restlessness and my desire to do something with my life. Being told that my music has helped people makes all the hard work worth it. If my songs have made even one person smile, that's reason enough to make me smile too!
